Environmentally Conscious Living

Metters is dedicated to producing highly efficient cleaner burning wood heaters, which means less fuel consumption and cleaner air for you and Australia.

Our Kosi range was engineered with energy efficiency through improved combustion, insulation and heat distribution mechanisms, at the forefront of this design to deliver a cost effective and sustainable heating solution.

Lower Emissions

Australia’s strict PM2.5 (particulate matter emissions with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less) emission standards of 1.5g/kg have been far surpassed in our Kosi range with 0.8g/kg and 0.7g/kg respectively for our No.25 and No.35 models. By meeting lower PM2.5 emission standards, your Metters wood fire is a terrific choice to contribute to improved air quality in Australia.

Higher Efficiency

Efficiency standards in Australia also state your wood heater must operate at a minimum of 60% efficiency, the Kosi series has achieved 67% and over, which means you’ll typically burn less wood to achieve the same level of warmth; reducing the amount of fuel needed to heat your home.

Carbon Neutral

Over its lifetime a tree absorbs a significant amount of carbon dioxide; when wood is burned, that same CO2 is released back into the atmosphere where it can be re-absorbed by newly planted trees. When using wood from a sustainably managed source, your Metters Kosi does not contribute additional CO2 to the Earth’s carbon load.

Sustainable.

Wood is a reliable and renewable resource in Australia, sustainable through the continuous replanting of trees. Sustainably managed firewood plantations are a far more environmentally friendly alternative compared to non-renewable fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas.
