Founded in 1891, Metters was a family business incorporating the talents of three Metters brothers; Fredrick, Charles and John. Collectively they utilised their skills to design and build a range of high-quality solid fuel stoves; manufacturing and distributing across the country to Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide & Perth.
By 1908 Metters was a household name. Building upon their reputation for quality, and with their ever-expanding national distribution network, the Metters brothers seized the opportunity to diversify their manufacturing base. Metters then expanded into gas & electric cooking appliances, wood heaters, agricultural equipment and an increasing range of household appliances and accessories.
